From Virgina to Geogia to Florida /No sign of the polar vortex here

After spending a great week in Virgina with Heathers family , went by way to fast, it was time to hit the road and get down to Florida to pick up the RV.  Onto the Blue Ridge Parkway and off we went!

South West Virgina is beautiful county and I am always in awe of it when we come to visit! LOTS of cows and green grass, beautiful mountains and barns of all kinds.

Heather was very instant that I took pictures of how green everything was once we hit Georgia so all our northern friends could see that spring is in fact coming to you soon!

I have noticed a lot of cool water towers as we travel down the east coast, may do an album of them on Facebook. here was one of my favorites in SC.

Of all states we have entered and exited so far SC was the only one that thanked us for visiting! Thank you for having us SC , your so polite, even with your signs.

Onto the peach state and our stop for the night Savannah GA , this is a place I am really excited to come back through and explore for now we will have to settle for this.

This ended up in front of us on 95, around lunch time, it looked good LO

We finally hit Florida !!! YEAHHHHHHH! I did notice that they had to add an emergency stopping only sign here as people apparently to to exit there care on a 4 lane highway to take a picture of themselves by this sigh, I weep for those people.

On the way to the RV place we came across strange moon man in a yard that seemed to sell, rocks and rock like things. Interesting.

We went to visit our RV and it looks amazing, will have some photos tomorrow on Facebook , having to move our stuff in 90 degree Florida heat after living in the polar vortex has hit us for a loop, we are determined to get use to this weather!!!! Until then Heatstroke for everyone! Talk to you all real soon!

We are still here...fun in the snowpocalypse

Hi everybody we are still in NY, our home-buyers are apparently the worlds slowest moving creatures on the planet getting their mortgage through the most incompetent loan officer in the universe and then there is snow and a holiday every other week so" yeah us"! Its with great pleasure I present to you the sequel to "We are never going to move", "We are never going to move part deux".  The deux part will enable it to be entered into the best foreign film at the Oscars category....enjoy !

The Waiting is the Hardest Part

No movement on the moving front so here we sit in this very bizarre limbo like state feeling like we don't really belong here but we cant leave but we can always count on one thing .

Wait for it.

GARBAGE DAY WHooo Hooooooo

Smaller loads so that's something.

We are living in a pretty empty house on mattresses , feel like we snuck in here in the middle of the night  and are living the squatter like,  it was charming for about 10 minutes . Two weeks, not so much.

Kids love it so cant complain too much, they are doing their triplet thing where all being together is great !

The House itself is very empty and it makes me sad to see it like this, I hate this part, leaving houses never been one of my stronger moments.

Till then we shall be forever waiting for the whirlwind to start, I am pordicting mid week next week we shall see what happens.

                             Signing off for now!

A Cold Grey Bucket of Suck

I promise no global warming jokes or cute comments that will make you want to beat me next time you see me, instead ill lead with this .

Let me apologize well in advance for bringing on the Polar Vortex to you all cause if we were not trying to move I don't see their being any such thing. Stay tuned for normal wintery weather once we get out of here. When will that be? Who knows, apparently our buyers are getting some super duper government special secret handshake mortgage that takes forever to get. Here we sit, swirling in the polar vortex with you all. Yeah us!

It was GARBAGE WEDNESDAY AGAIN and we still managed to find even more things throw out, Heather threw on three layers of clothing to go outside, I only needed to cover the face and hands as I come equipt with my own build in layers. Take THAT polar vortext GRRRRROOWWWLLL!

No news other then this on the home front just some more box sorting and packing trying to figure out how much stuff really can fit into an RV. Till Next Time....

Birthday's times six on wheels

The kids celebrated their Birthday yesterday they have finally hit the double digits.  We were just here a minute ago, well I guess it was not a minute but 10 years.

The kids are so happy to be officially "Big Kids" now. I am so happy for them and so very aware now of how fast time slips through ones fingers. This really is appropriate  that we are heading out on the road for the trip of a lifetime. Time for living! We started the day with some dear friends that are the kind of friends you know will always be in your lives !

Then it was on to skating with the kids good friends ! It was the their birthday celebration as well and they were kind enough to have candles for our newly crowned big kids as well.

Then it was time for fun roller rink music and disco lights all the fun stuff you expect from roller skating!

Until next time !

Dreamweaver

So not much moving again on the old home front. Waiting for a buyer to get their mortgage commitment is a pain in the butt, I repeat, a pain in the butt. For people that were dead set on closing on December 20th they sure have missed some steps along the way.

Anyway...

My stress dreams seems to be at an all time high this week and after telling this one to Heather she insisted I blog about it cause she thought it was funny ,so without further a due, live from the dream catcher.

So here I go checking into a hotel with my family, we are in the lobby, then they are gone, I am now sleeping in a bed, its a hospital bed, hospital gown the whole nine. Next to me in the room is a gentleman sleeping in his hospital . All of a sudden I am jabbed in the back by a finger multiple times by a woman with a thick Caribbean accents. I don't turn around but start yelling for her to stop she must want the guy in the next bed.  When she comes around the bed she is .....

                                                   The Chiquita Banana Woman

For some reason this infuriated me, damn you Chiquita Banana Woman. I look for the phone to call the front desk, cause im no longer in a hospital, and look over and banana and my roommate are doing Yoga. This INFURIATES me, I find the phone to complain that I have been physically assaulted in my hospital bed by Chiquita Banana Woman and I want answers!  The lady at the desk cause, now I am at a hotel again asks me if I know what Yoga is and if not I need to search Wikipedia as its very relaxing. I think I felt my head about to explode and I woke up.  These dreams are much better then the ones where I use to carry old people up and down never ending stairs while dressed in my police uniform so hey, cant complain.

My Service Dog Brady has taken the stress meter up to Def Con 5 as noted by the proximity to my body right now .

I am to the left that's they edge of my computer table.  In the time it took me to white this much of the blog and my lorazapam to kick in we seem to have gone down to def-con 4 , things are looking up.

The only room left with remnants to make it over to storage on our last trip, well really second to last trip again because I forgot the kids mattresses the day we close on the house. This is our room, its looking almost organized.

So there you have it, Heather has to go to the hospital for an MRI then its muscle relaxers and box packing for all! Till next time..beware the Chiquita banana woman

Storage and Garbage these are a few of my favorite things

Hey Everyone after a down day yesterday it was back to packing and moving again. BONUS Wednesday means its garbage day. This day has become a real favorite around here as it mean we get to purge out all the things that we don't need, mostly boxes and assorted odds and ends. We seem to have many , many assorted odds and ends.  Here's a shot of today's garbage lineup.

We had a really nice garbage tech today and he sent back a truck to get even another load for us, I never thought I would see the day that positive experiences with garbage would make me so happy.

Angela from  Blueberry Hill Galleries was back as promised to help clean up from the estate sale , she arrived with her Dad and Karen's son Zach to help with the heavy lifting. We have nothing  but positive things to say about the whole Bluberry Hill crew, they were amazing and took care of every aspect of our sale and even took the remaining items to either be auctioned or donated to good will. We recommend them if you ever are in need of such a service.

The final truck of our stuff heading out to its final destination's. Angela told us that people were buying things right out of the truck when they got to goodwill. I never knew there were goodwill groupies that hung out waiting to buy things when trucks pulled up, learn something new everyday.

Next up was our trip to storage, we are nearly done and thinking this may be the second to last load. Today we moved over our only piece of furniture we kept, besides the kids beds .

Alex has really been enjoying helping pack the BAT and has mastered never having his eyes open when I take a picture. Off to storage we went and after shifting some things around were impressed at the amount of room we still had.  We took BAT to get a bath and I think I got more soap in my mouth then on the truck. Sorry no photos was too horrifying to document , next time we will be better prepared for the whole wash your own truck stall.  It was like being on a game show to get everything done in the amount of time given but no prize at the end.

Sooo we are back at the homestead and Heather is packing up some more boxes of the odds and ends left in our room. Almost done, waiting on the closing date so we can move my parents over to their new place.  Ill leave you all with this amazing picture of BAT because its just awesome lol. Till next time !

FACEPALM

Ok , apparently I don't know how to work blogger so well. I erased my first blog as well as the one I just finished today.  Ughhh....

So we will call this my first blog post! Welcome to my new blog, A Dog (really two) , A Daryl (our zombie killer and mascot ) An RV and some minions (that would be us) . I believe that Heather will be blogging as well and expect it to be increadably more informative and well done then mine . I will let you know when she starts.

While researching full time RV blogs I have found many folks say they wish that they had started blogging before leaving so this is what I will do. There is a lot that goes into preparing for this journey and darn gum it you all should get to share all the fun with us .

Lets catch up to where we are so far shall we?

1) Heather decides that it would be fun to travel the country and teach our home schooled pack, the triple threat, all about the history of our country by actually seeing it first hand. (also time is ticking on how long they will want to be with us 24/7 in a small space).

2) Lee is very apprehensive about traveling due to her pesky PTSD but since Heather and the kids and her service dog will all be there , along with her very own traveling room so she is willing to give it the old college try. ( not to mention that Heather has had to take care of my big bag of anxiety for 5 years and deserves any adventure she wants).

3) We need to leave NY as it is expensive, we live next to the most expensive county in terms of taxes in the COUNTRY. Bit by bit this is creeping into our county and the suburbs of NYC have moved up to 3 hours from the heart of Manhattan. Thousands of commuters are ass-rocketing themselves up here and beyond just so they can afford a house  for their families. This is very undesirable as it creates an atmosphere of very cranky tired people.

4) House put on the market sold in less then 2 weeks, we are told that people have finally decided that they are not going to make up the 10's of thousands of dollars they lost on buying in the heyday before the banks flushed us all down the toilet and they are ready to move on and cut their losses. Thinking about our losses makes me want to go on a week long bender so will just pretend it did not happen. But Yeah us , house is sold!

                                         (just keep it coming.....)

4) When we sold said house buyers told us they wanted to be in by  Dec 20th ! Its not Dec 20th anymore! Sure we rushed to buy our truck , to be known from here on out at "The Bat" , short for Bad Ass Truck.

Sure we rushed to get our RV into production since the one we wanted exists nowhere in the entire USA or Canada . (You don't get to see that till we pick it up)  Sure we prepared nothing for Christmas this year and plugged in our lawn decoration into the wall in the family room and put presents around it. You get the picture...very strange times at the old ranch.

5) Find a place for my parents to live, we found a nice 55 plus community close to everything that seniors would need within spitting distance. A supermarket, A church, A Panero bread (yes to most its Panera bread to my parents, panero) and they can see their doctors office from the parking lot . In other words, senior citizens utopia.

6) Packing Boxes times infinity and moving all our worldly possessions into storage because nothing, I repeat nothing other then you and a few changes of underwear fit in an RV.  Not that you need much storage because everything you own is about to be sold at an estate sale. Including the warm pillowcases from behind your head .

7) Hire a really nice lady to sell all of your worldly possessions in an estate sale. Leaving your house kinda looking like this.

And This:

8) Which brings us to today the estate sale worker bees are here sorting whats left. Some will go off to auction, some will go on consignment and some will go to the salvation army. I hate the salvation army but I love that they give stuff to people in need. I know you are DYING to know why I hate the salvation army. No? Well ill tell you anyway.

They use that money they collect in those cute little red kettles for things like lobbying world wide against Gay people. Apparently gods army's number one priority is to rid the world of gay people, or at least keep them in line, hate the sin and all that stuff.  I hope that they take Pat Robertson's advice and check furniture for any "Aids rings" we might have left hanging around as we use them to "infect straight people with aids " while walking down the streets and cutting them with our rings.  I digress....

So here we sit, people sorting and taking, me watching Alex take his turn in the bathtub, the new favorite sport of the kids as they will miss their "jets" . I think you are all up to speed and I hope to post this without losing it cause it took a heck of a long time! Signing out for now!
